True Freedom
It is absolutely clear
that God has called you to a free life.
Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom
as an excuse to do whatever you want
to do and destroy your freedom.
Rather, use your freedom
to serve one another in love;
that’s how freedom grows.
For everything we know about God’s Word
is summed up in a single sentence:
Love others as you love yourself.
That’s an act of true freedom.
If you bite and ravage each other,
watch out—
in no time at all
you will be annihilating each other,
and where will your precious freedom be then?
Galatians 5:13-15, MSG
I love the Message paraphrase of this verse. Great photo, too!
Thanks, Elizabeth. Hope you are having a wonderful week! 🙂
Amen, Lyli. Amen.
He keeps pointing me in this direction. Lord, give me ears to hear.
i love the sentence “love others as you love yourself.” I often wish this had been taught…really taught instead of just talked about. the message received was to always put others first, never yourself…the message gets scewed doesn’t it.
I am learning the balance
Me, too, Carol. Me, too. 🙂
beautiful picture and verse.
Thanks, Sharon.
Blessings to you! 🙂
Beautiful!
Thanks, Elizabeth.
I will be back at your place on Fridays soon. It’s been a crazy, busy few weeks in my world.
This was such a fresh reminder that our freedom came from love and is to flow through love. Such love serves and gives through Him. Thank you.
We are called to love. It sounds so easy on paper, but not as easy when we try to flesh it out. I am thankful that His Holy Spirit helps me.
The honesty of my blogging friends helps me in my own time of trial. Thanks for sharing your suffering and the reason for you hope (God’s power).
Thank you for being present here with me, Laura. You are so faithful to encourage. I am thankful for you today.
Love this—I keep hitting this all over the scripture lately…love one another as you love yourselves/treat others as you want to be treated….the “royal law” according to James….
God help us truly show this to others—I don’t even like it when my husband says my dish-washing technique needs help….so I should be so careful before I speak a word that isn’t uplifting to my brothers…much less start finger pointing or shouting at them or protesting them, etc…
Love to you! Keep Shining Bright!
