Simply Celebrate
Photo Credit / Quote: Emily Freeman
These are the days of….
-
-
- Cuddling in bed on a lazy Saturday morning
- Watching through the window for the squirrels to steal a peanut
- Hoarding a stockpile of free orange cranberry muffins
- Floating together in the pool under blue skies
- Holding hands and singing 80’s karaoke on a drive to nowhere special
- Stealing a coconut shrimp off mom’s plate and splitting a key lime pie
- Sitting quietly next to the blind man who taught you to see
- Worshipping side by side in the back left corner
- Invading the Moonlite diner after the service with stories to tell
- Playing peekaboo with a blond little sprite
- Pigging out on date night queso and chips at a tall table by the window
- Praying big and believing God’s going to move a mountain

What gives moments meaning is not the moments themselves but the presence of Christ with us in the midst of them.
~Emily Freeman, Simply Tuesday
Loved this Lyli. He is with us, in the midst of ALL that is unfolding in each of our lives. Beautifully simple but oh so powerful. XO
Lyli, I love your ordinary things that are extraordinary as we see Christ in each of them. : )
Most recently? The gift of email and long distance friendship.
Love your list, Lyli.
Visiting from the Bloom incourage book club linkup … I love the quote you included from Simply Tuesday. Such a good book! Enjoyed reading your list, and your taking time to treasure the small moments.
As usual, you grabbed hearts and and the necessary of spiritual attention. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings…
I loved the quote you shared,
“What gives moments meaning is not the moments themselves but the presence of Christ with us in the midst of them.”
I was convicted because I’m more caught up in the moment, certainly thankful to God for a treasured moment, but not putting it in the context of His presence in the moment.
Thanks so much for sharing!
How precious, such simple profound moments. To hold and to cherish! Beautiful. I will notice my own this week in such a simple way!
Warm thanks! Visiting from #TestimonyTuesday!
I am enjoying the gift of laughter this week. Such good medicine. Beautiful post!
Oh yes… I love these lists! <3
Lyli, I love the idea of celebrating on purpose. I feel God’s presence when a friend calls or texts out of the blue. Or when I see a friend I haven’t seen in a while and they give me a hug and share a smile. I’m visiting from Coffee for Your Heart 🙂
That quote from Emily really stood out to me too, Lyli. I love your celebrations. So much goodness.
Lyli, today November 19th, I linked up with Thought-provoking Thursday – I was looking for a comment box but couldn’t find one so I’m glad we’re neighbors at live free Thursday! Will be linking up from here on.
Thank you. Jesus is with us at all times in life. The good and the bad.
God bless.
