I declare

  • Almighty God is present and at work in my world.   He is the God who performs miracles.   Nothing is impossible for Him.
  • Jesus is Lord of my life and of this universe.  He conquered death and can breathe life into any situation.  No weapon formed against me will prosper.
  • The Holy Spirit is actively engaged in the nitty gritty of every moment of my day.  I have everything I need to face today and tomorrow.  I am empowered to walk in victory.

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. (Psalms 118:117)
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples. (I Chronicles 16:24)
Many, Lord my God, are the wonders You have done, the things You planned for us. None can compare with You; were I to speak and tell of Your deeds, they would be too many to declare. (Psalms 40:5)
I will declare that Your love stands firm forever, that You have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.  (Psalms 89:2)
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. (I Peter 2:9)

What is your life declaring to the world today?

Something to think about…

  1. I don’t know what my life declares…I was told, long ago and on a distant continent that my ‘animal avatar’ is the Cape Buffalo.

The buff puts his head down and endures in good humour and within his social ‘herd circle’…but when hunted, and wounded, he will turn the tables, and track and ambush his assailant.

The buff has been known to tree hunters, and keep them there until they starved.

Not an animal you want to irritate.

Some maybe that’s my declaration…there can be no better friend, and no more fearsome enemy than me.

  2. I ask this same question of my children often, though not exactly in these words, the intent is the same. What I ask of them, I should also ask of myself, right? What I appreciate here, is that you wrote it down and have inspired me to do that. My word this year is ‘behold’ and it puts me in the perspective to LOOK and declare what He has seen in my life.

  3. This is good for me to hear, Lyli. The church that I’ve been at since 2012 is very good at “declaring.” It is making a difference in my prayer life to be bolder about coming to the throne of grace to receive what God offers me. Thanks for affirming that today.

    1. So glad you’ve found a church that is stretching you in the right direction. I switched churches back in 2006, and it was life changing for me. Moving to a new church can be so hard, but sometimes God moves you to get you out of your comfort zone and give you fresh eyes of faith.

  4. This indeed a thought-provoking post. The chapter in the book I was reading this morning touched on the same truth from a little different angle. Thanks for further bringing out what it means to declare and then declaring in a way that brings glory to God.

  5. There is power in the spoken Word! I love the declarations you’ve written. I’ve got pages of scriptures that I pray/speak aloud. They’re old and tattered and tearstained now. They are one of my most treasured spiritual weapons in prayer.

  6. Lovely, Lyli. <3 And, those verses are great.
    Thanks for sharing that. πŸ™‚
What is my life declaring? Interesting thought. Hmm.
I don't know, but I hope that it's speaking to my heart for Him. I adore Him so.
But, perhaps, it's declaring the fact that I'm spent and overwhelmed and long for a vacation. ? Good food for thought. ((hug))

  7. Blessings, Lyli!

Declare is a great word! I love the verse about the whole earth declaring His works! YES! It is something that is uppermost on my mind when my hubby and I take our walk. I am so distracted by the beauty of Creation declaring the character of the Lord. Lovely thought.

    Joy!
