Hope Overflowing

Hope

Oh! May the God of green hope

fill you up with joy,

fill you up with peace,

so that your believing lives,

filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit,

will brim over with hope!

  1. “HOPE” is a good thing… a good GOD thing. In my past world… before He broke into my life just as I was 4 months shy of 21, I was buried in sinfulness. NOW… nearly 48 years later, I am buried in “serviceness”. That’s all I’ve got. Because of Him.

Thank you for your gift. Always need to see those giftedness bits and pieces. AND love the photo and the Word you shared.

  2. Gorgeous covering of hope in both picture and word. Thank you, Lyli, for visiting Inking the Heart. I will be praying for the uncovering of the Lord’s “kingdom plan” in your life. Until then may you be covered in the hope and joy of the Lord through this season! Love, Rachael @ Inking the Heart

  3. I love the idea expressed of “green hope”. That’s why I love The Message: it gives a different perspective on verses that may have grown stale in our minds.

    Have a great Sunday, Lyli!

    1. Yes, Alison! That was EXACTLY the phrase that jumped out at me this morning when I read it. This verse is a favorite of mine, but it took on new meaning today when I read it in this translation.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! πŸ™‚

    1. I love the word pictures in The Message translation, Mary Leigh. For me, the phrase “God of green hope” jumped out at me. Green implies life, and it reminds me that because Christ conquered death, anything is possible. God can do anything, and this fills me with great hope.

Blessings to you this weekend! πŸ™‚

  4. Beautiful pairing of a photo with this verse – “green hope”. Nothing like an evergreen to speak of life in the midst of the harsh winter. No matter the weather or the storm, it remains “green” – full of life & hope. We have a tall pine tree alongside our driveway that my husband has wanted to have cut down for years. I am so glad that I have asked him to leave it for now, when I see it each day, I will remember this verse & think of hope, hope in my God. Beautiful post!
    Have a blessed Sunday,
    Joanne
