Here I Am To Worship

I watched a memorial service online this week.Β  I did not attend the actual service several months ago because I’d cried through a few too many funerals in 2014, and no one would notice if I missed this one.

As I watched, I felt compelled to pick up a pen start scribbling down notes… because this was a life well lived, a life lived full throttle for Jesus that impacted many.

I watched as women stood up and spoke of her impact, her love, her passion.

I want to live a life like that.

So, this morning, I revisited my notes – wisdom scrawled on a post it:

  • Moderation in Everything.Β  Extreme Jesus
  • A Kingdom mindset
  • A life of daily miracles that purposes to see God’s goodness
  • Might and Conviction
  • Accepting that God’s cause is not always a successful one by earthly standards
  • Remembering that God is not interested in success, only in our obedience
  • Live full throttle for Jesus

I want to live a life like that, but I don’t know if I have the necessary DNA some days.

And then God reminds me.Β  He reminds me as I am sitting at His feet seeking once again to find the strength to face my today.

Daughter, your job is to obey, not to provide.Β  I am your Provider.Β  You simply surrender to all that I AM.Β

Here I am to worship, Lord.

  1. That’s a beautiful list you have! “Accepting that God’s cause is not always a successful one by earthly standards,” is something I needed to hear today. I would love to join your Pray Big FB group. What a good idea. πŸ™‚

  2. This is one of my favorite praise songs. “Here I am to say that you’re my God.” I want my life to say that. Wonderful goals you’re posted here.

  3. I love how God reminded you that He is your Provider, that you have only to walk in obedience to the things He asks you to do, and trust Him with the outcome!

    Blessings,
    Kamea

  4. Amen! I’m with you sister. Life is too short not to go hard after Jesus and not to live to the full! We have a hope and purpose much greater than what we see or feel.

  5. Great goals in your list – love how God speaks to us, how He can use the lives of those who walked before us even when they have passed on.

  6. I love these truths from her life “β€’Accepting that God’s cause is not always a successful one by earthly standards ,Remembering that God is not interested in success, only in our obedience” Its hard not to measure our lives against even our own measuring stick. God asks us for obedience and that is all. Its hard and it goes against the grain to just be ok with that. I feel like Im still learning what obedience really means, but I do now that it is key to living for God. Your neighbor over at #threewordwednesday!

  7. Lyli, it is in your DNA FOR SURE, even on days you don’t feel it. We don’t always feel like we are created in the image of God on some days, but on all days, we are. I love your reminder to worship.

  8. This is so good that I am tweeting it later today! “Moderation is everything. Extreme Jesus” Check! I’m your neighbor at Counting My Blessings linkup. ~gina

  9. May we seek His perfect will, not ours, and He will give us the desires of our heart! Linked up with you at Recommendation Saturday — hope you’ll stop by Saved by Grace for a visit!
    God bless,
    Laurie

  10. You are one of the biggest encouragers I know! Keep on keeping on girl! My favorite part of this are your words at the end “Daughter, your job is to obey, not to provide. I am your Provider. You simply surrender to all that I AM.” Such a perfect reminder for me in my own life. Thank you for sharing this at The Weekend Brew.
