On My Heart (Vol 3)

I thought from time to time it might be nice to give you a peek at what’s tugging at my heart strings.
Right now I am…
Watching: Forget those presidential debates. It’s time for the NBA playoffs. Go Miami Heat!
Feeling: Convicted and challenged by the book of Ecclesiastes. I’m studying it verse by verse with a great group of gals.
Listening: Have you hear Colton Dixon’s new song Through All of It”? It’s one of my new favorites along with “Hope in Front of Me” by Danny Gokey. I didn’t catch either of them on American Idol, but I am a big fan now. 🙂
Making: I love this crock pot vegetable soup. I make a big batch on the weekend and pack it in my new lunch crock food warmer to take to work.
Loving: I discovered a fabulous app called Adobe Post thanks to Amy Andrews, and now I am addicted to making graphics on my phone.
Reading: I recently finished two excellent books — Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer and The Rest of God: Restoring Your Soul by Restoring Sabbath by Mark Buchanan.
Planning: I took the plunge and launched a public Instagram account. Join me there for a little sunshine.
Celebrating: My hubby came home from the hospital last month with high blood sugar, so I determined to get our diet under control. I started by purchasing these precise portion plates, and 8 weeks later, Bruce has lost weight and is off medication.
Let’s Talk: What’s on your heart right now?

Precise portion plates? Oh my, I am intrigued …
Will check out your wise suggestion, friend!
;-}
I found them very instructive! I use them more as a measuring plate than anything. I transfer everything to a pretty plate for dinner, and my hubby is none the wiser! We’ve moved toward having brown rice and salad with a protein every night for dinner. So far, we are on track, and we haven’t gotten bored with the regimen. It’s been quite “do-able” for us. 🙂
I am downloading the Adobe Post app now! So glad you mentioned it again. I forgot about checking it out the last time I heard about it! Thanks Lyli! Joining you today from #RaRaLinkup
I am slightly addicted to creating graphics on my phone now. Perhaps there is a support group…. 🙂
Thank you for sharing all of this great information. The soup looks wonderful, and I am excited to check out Adobe Post! Will follow you on instagram, too. Blessings, Michelle
The soup is yummy. I add a can of rinsed out beans as one of the commenters suggested under the post. Looking forward to seeing you on Instagram. Blessings 🙂
Lyli, it’s nice to get this peek at your life! I’ve never heard of that Adobe Post app. I might have to look into it. In my heart right now I’m processing my mom’s death and moving forward seeking what God has for me and my family. First off my husband and I will be taking a short vacation spending a couple of nights at The Cove for a personal spiritual retreat. Really looking forward to that. Have a great week! Blessings to you, Lyli!
Gayl, you’ve been on my heart since I read your comment on my phone yesterday. Praying for you during ths season of grieving. I am so sorry to hear that your mom passed away. You are so wise to get away and refresh your spirit for a few days. Praying for God to breath life and peace into you as you walk around the Cove. We have family close by there in Boone — so beautiful!
Lyli thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts. It means a lot!
What a great post, Lyli. I love Colton Dixon and you’re the third person who has recommended Adobe Post. I use Typorama a lot, but I’m going to check it out. Thanks for sharing the goodness with us – and your IG feed is great!!
Oh, I am looking at Typorama now on my phone, and it looks great. Downloading. Thanks for that tip, Tiffany. Loved connecting with you in Instagram. 🙂
A short but sweet and sincere message. So right. Sometimes, our heart knows better.
I love these kinds of posts! They are so fun… and informative! Off to check out the ap for making graphics – because, of course!
It’s been a while since I did one of these posts… I don’t know why I don’t do one more often. Probably because I think my life is too boring for a blog post! I imagine myself writing “Currently listening to the washing machine.” 🙂
Lyli, I love how you shared your doings and your readings and your thinkings with active verbs. You remind me that God is at work in all of the details of life.
Yes, He is. He is all about the details. Thanks for reminding me, Michelle Hugs
I’m not sure where to begin with all your goodness. Love both songs and singers you referenced. Yay for being on Instagram! I now need to investigate the app you mentioned to work on graphics. I am proud of you and your husband for getting your eating under control and amazing that 8 weeks later he has had such a great turn around. Sabbath blessings to you and yours.
I love those songs too! I loved getting a peek into your life, and so glad to hear your hubby is doing better. Thank you for sharing over at Let Us Grow!
So many awesome things in this single post, Lyli! I could sit here for quite awhile and click and read. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Right now I just love this little post you shared and I am clicking through links cause I want what you posted. 🙂 Yay for Bruce… love those songs… I may be getting one of those books you mentioned ( hint: I need to learn to rest)… and I don’t watch the debates either. They give me high blood pressure. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this at #GraceMoments. So glad you are there.
Hugs,
Dawn
