3 Wonderful Ways God Bends Down to Bless You
God likes to interrupt my day and remind me I am loved. He does this often, and if I am not completely frazzled and running around like a crazy woman in a frenzy, sometimes I notice.
He surrounds me with sweet songs of deliverance.
He tenderly holds me by the hand.
The lover of my soul is wooing me to His side, but sadly some days I miss His invitation because I am too busy worrying about my problems to slow down and worship.
I waste a whole lot of time working myself up over problems that are monumental to me, but minuscule to my Mighty God. I forget He has me covered today. I focus on the looming tragedy and fail to listen to my faithful Father.
I don’t know if you struggle with spiritual ADD like me, but I want to get off the hamster wheel of worry and just let God be God in my life.
If you struggle with trying to fix things and fail to stop and see how God is at work in the details of your life, I want to let you know you are not alone. We probably need a support group. Send me an e-mail if you want to join.
This week, I slowed down for a few minutes and sat by a lovely window in my family room overlooking our fabulous back yard. I need to sit there with the Lord and savor His beautiful creation more often.
I opened up my devotional to Psalm 37, and God sweetly reminded me that I am loved.
Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed by life this week, and you need a little reminder that God loves you.
Consider this a love note from your God. He sees you.
3 Wonderful Ways God Bends Down to Bless You
He directs your path
Let this thought blow your mind today: The God who created the entire universe speaks to you and has ordered the steps of your path. He goes before you and paves the way with His grace and peace.
“A person plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Psalm 16:9, NLT)
He delights in you
God has chosen you as His very own and longs to cozy up to you — He isn’t scared of your brand of crazy. He designed you as a creative being and finds you charming just as you are.
“He brought me out to a spacious place; he rescued me because He delighted in me.” (Psalm 16:9, CSB)
He’s invested in the details
Not one second of your life escapes God’s careful attention. He knows exactly what you need, and He is orchestrating every single moment of your week with a purposeful design for you day.
“God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet He also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, His holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny. So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are His lovers who have been called to fulfill His designed purpose.” (Romans 8:27-28, TPT)
So, here is my awesome God story for this week: I wrote all the words you read above in the early morning hours last Friday sitting in my bed with my journal, my laptop, my Bible, and Jesus. Later in the day, I logged on to social media to check in with the the world, and my friend Julie had “spontaneously” left me a little love on Facebook:
God smiled at me through Julie.
What if we all decided this week to share a little encouragement with one friend to remind her she is fiercely loved by her faithful God? Julie’s sweet post helped fuel my faith this week, and I am incredibly thankful for her.
To help remind you how much God loves you, I’ve created a beautiful list of 7 Scriptural promises for you to meditate on this week. Sign up today as a member of the Wildfire Faith Community and grab a copy in our Faith Fuel Library. Print out your copy and start each morning letting God’s love wash over you as you worship the One who loves you most. (Bonus points if you share the verse on Facebook and tag a friend to encourage her.)
When we consistently allow God’s love pour into our fragile hearts, our countenance changes. His love lights up our souls, and we radiate His joy — a inexpressible joy spilling out over our family and friends. I dare you to download this week’s free printable and spend dedicated time drawing from the deep well of God’s love for you. You are deeply loved by a God who delights in you.
His love changes everything.
Friend, you are fiercely loved by your faithful God.

I shared on Facebook. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Liz Curtis Higgs’ 31 Proverbs to Light Your Path !
It’s amazing how easy it is to spread a little cheer and encouragement. Thank you for reminding us to do so today! And also thanks for the chance to win a copy of Liz’ book! I’m currently reading “Made Like Martha” by Katie Reid (and LOVING it!) and Devotions of the Greek New Testament (and also LOVING it!).
So needed! The last few months have been a struggle and it seems the deeper I try to go with God the more trials I face. I know I’m in His hands though…and all will be well. I have shared your post on my Facebook page! Please consider me for your book giveaway!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to win
Had this book on my wish list for a little while.shared on fb
Lyli, I love this description, spiritual ADD! One way God leans down and lets me know I am loved is through your posts, your leadership of our SOAP study, and your encouragement in the writing life. ((Hugs)) .
PS-Liz Curtis Higgs’ book is a good one!
I shared this on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sherri.sav.1/posts/1637522156346380. I’d love this book. Proverbs is so full of interesting words!
I saw Julie’s note on facebook. How fun to hear this back story! God sends me a few triggers throughout the day that always put a smile on my face because they remind me He’s thinking of me! 🙂 But you’re right, busy-ness too often makes me unaware of them, which is sad! Blessings, friend!
Hi Lyli! I met Julie last year at She Speaks, and she’s a wonderful encourager! Glad she blessed you with that sweet comment. I shared this post twice on Pinterest, and now it’s in my Twitter queue. Blessings to you!
Oh friend. I’m SO glad I took a break from packing boxes and settled in a minute to read your blog post. What blessed encouragement from Psalm 37! Curious to see your list of 7 scriptures. For one of the talks I prepared recently, I printed a little booklet with 8 verses on God’s love. I need to pick it up and read it again !
“Spiritual ADD” – Yes! Especially when I try to pray. It always helps for me to be walking or running. If my body is busy, I can keep my mind a little more focused.
“Y’all know I am a big book nerd. Other women buy shoes, but I buy books and Bible commentaries.” I just had to empty my office to have some repair work done. The contractor said I needed less books. 🙂
Thanks for sharing today!
That book by Liz is a wonderful encouraging read!
And I love the reminder that God bends over backwards to bless us. These verses are great insurance against the lie that God does not have our best interest at heart! (Oldest lie in The Book!)
I love it when God lines up things so perfectly. Thank you for sharing your post and facebook post.
I love to read, and I have to admit I don’t have anything on my nightstand. I have been traveling this month and in my spare time, I have been reading blog posts. Shared on Pinterest and will share right now on FB
How often is this true of me: “I forget He has me covered today.” Today, he has me covered. I’m claiming it now. Thanks, Lyli!
Love this and shared on twitter. laurensparks.net
Love this! Posted to facebook on June 1.
Thank you for all of the encouragement you give to us and the great scripture tools!
I want to join! Sometimes I see only the needs and problems and not the One Who actually can and will do something about them!
Nowadays, because we live in such a materialistic society, it can be so easy to lose sight of the love of God and the blessings He bestows. Thank you for this encouraging post.
