Game On

Do you still have your “game face” on?
Of course, there will be obstacles and opponents to overcome on the road to victory, but a well-trained athlete takes a defensive stance and keeps his eye on the goal.
The game of life is a short one, so we must run hard, keep talking to our teammates, and stick to the Coach’s strategy.
Keep at it, champ.Β Β Your comeback is coming.

I donβt know about you,
but Iβm running hard for the finish line.
Iβm giving it everything Iβve got.
No sloppy living for me!
Iβm staying alert and in top condition.
Iβm not going to get caught napping,
telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.

A great reminder for today. Thanks!
I love that verse in the Message paraphrase. It’s so motivating! Thank you so much for hosting each week and for the great encouragement you are online.
Sometimes this running hard feels like I am running in place. I don’t know about you, Lyli, but that is how I feel at times. Then I realize that I have been looking in the wrong direction. I have been running with my eyes down, watching my feet…looking where I step, and maybe even where I have been rather than looking up at the ONE who directs my steps.
As always, your posts are thought provoking and God-honoring!
Blessings,
Dawn
This resonated with me. Totally hit my sweet spot. I was a competitive athlete in college and even now, 20 years later and physically slower and with less stamina, still know that feeling.
Thanks for inspiring my Sunday.
