Facebook: Ministry or Mania
I decided to delete my Facebook account.Β Β The mania had become too much.Β Facebook was sucking my life away β it was a time waster.Β The platform was a breeding ground for dissatisfaction and superficial relationships.Β I was exhausted by the βoversharingβ of personal information and the wars waged by friends with differing political ideologies.Β I wanted to return to the quiet days of reading a book and listening to music.Β The voice of Facebook had to go.
But, before I could hit the delete button on my social media life, God sent me a reminder.Β He reminded me that I am to be a light in a dark place.Β He reminded me through a Facebook private message.

Dear Lyli,
Like the Internet and other social media, Facebook can be used for evil; as a time-waster that distracts us from God’s purpose; or for good! I get frustrated sometimes when I think I’m spending too much time on Facebook, but I try to limit my participation to encouraging others, witnessing, and sharing links to my blog posts. I pray that I will use my time there and in general in accordance with His will.
Thanks so much for visiting and commenting on Saved by Grace! Your blog is a blessing and I am now following it, and I invite you to follow Saved by Grace also:

Laurie, it’s a blessing to get to be God’s hands and feet on Facebook. Technology really opens up doors for the Gospel to reach more and more people. π
