How to Praise Him Before Your Breakthrough

How to Praise Him Before Your Breakthrough

Last night I spent 35 minutes telling a group of women God has positioned them for victory. God has enriched their lives with grace. God had empowered them to bring praise to Him despite their problems.

You don’t have to live imprisoned by your circumstances. You are positioned in Christ, and He has placed everything under His feet.

I said it like I meant it. I believed it.

And then, thirty minutes later I was at home sitting in my living room, and I realized I am going to have to live it.

We got a heartbreaking phone call. The enemy sneaked in with his wicked schemes and suckerpunched us in the worse way.

So, I am going to pick myself up off the floor and push back fear. I am going to stand on the promises and praise Him. I am not feeling it, but I am going to faith it.

My God is able, and He is in control even when my life seems crazy.

He is the Lifter of my head, and as I look to Him, He will help me.

He will help me one step of faith at a time.

Maybe like me you feel sucker punched by an unexpected problem. Your God is with you, friend. He is a Man of Sorrows, and He is close to the brokenhearted.

Praise Him before your breakthrough, and He will empower you to persevere.

How to Praise Him Before Your Breakthrough

Remember Who You Are

  • You are chosen. God created the world with you in mind, and He has crafted a plan for your life.  (Ephesians 1:4)
  • You are adopted. Put on your princess hat. Your are a royal daughter of  the King of Kings. (Ephesians 1:5)
  • You are accepted. God love will never let you go. He longs to lavish you with the gifts of His grace.  (Ephesians 1:6)

“Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.” (Ephesians 1:4-6, MSG)

Recognize What You Have

  • You are enriched with every spiritual blessing from God. (Ephesians 1:3-6)
  • You are redeemed and forgiven by the riches of Christ’s grace. (Ephesians 1:7-8)
  • You have an inheritance in heaven.  Your salvation is sure and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14)

“It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.” (Ephesians 1:13-14, MSG)

Request What You Need

  • Pray you will grow in wisdom and intimacy with your God in the middle of your hard season. (Ephesians 1:17)
  • Ask God to fill you with His hope as you look to heaven and help you stay faithful to your calling. (Ephesians 1:18)
  • Look to the God seated on the throne over all and ask Him to empower you with His strength for today. (Ephesians 1:19-23)

“I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!” (Ephesians 1:17-19, MSG)

When we know were are positioned in Christ, we are able to offer praise in any place, even in the midst of our temporary problems.  God has a purpose for your pain, and you overcome the enemy through the Word of your testimony and thanks to the work of Jesus in your life.

Maybe God’s mission for you is to pave the way for others to find Him.

  1. I’m putting on my princess hat today, friend! I’m also praying for you. I appreciate how you shed new light on those Ephesians 1 verses! I memorized them over the last two months.

  2. Elisabeth Elliot used to say that often when she spoke on a subject, she was tested in the very thing she was speaking out just before or after. Praying for you, and I know you’ll find His grace sufficient.

  3. You are such an encourager, Lyli. It seems God knew you needed the message you’d prepared for those women to hear. I’m grateful He knows in advance what we’ll need and will be praying for you this week.

  8. Thank you for hosting the link up, Lyli. Whatever is going on, God is in control and He will never leave you nor forsake you. I agree that praising God, acknowledging Him in all our ways, and walking even when we don’t understand are keys to living this often confusing life.
