Now THERE’S an invitation to mull over. There’s so much subtle {and not so much} pressure on us to have a Pinterest/Martha Stewart home before we open our hearts. But maybe Christ is calling us to simple extend ourselves. In all our uniqueness.
Thanks for sharing this translation, Lyli. I hope your weekend shines!
Thanks, Linda. God has been doing a work in my heart on this subject this week, and reading this passage in this translation last night was like a big AMEN at the end of the week.
A simple passage but one that really makes me stop at take a pause. I tend to stress myself out when I know company is coming but I don’t think that is what God has in mind for us at all when he calls us to extend hospitality.
I like that, Lyli! We are so often “Marthas” when it comes to hospitality: taking care of the minutae that must be attended to when we have guests. But being inventive in our hospitality… that carries it up to an entirely different level. Love the photo. Makes me feel at home already!
Oh, how I would love to sit there with you. Such a sweet refuge.
Visiting from Sandy’s place today.
That would be sweet fellowship! 🙂
Yup!!

And, I would love to be there with you — listening to your stories. 🙂
I’m RSVPing yes! And I want the sunniest chair. So cold today.
Spring is coming…

I say we have a pot luck… it will help take the pressure off the Martha’s. 🙂
