31 Days to Fruitful Living — Day 15

Sow joy.  This gladness of heart springs up from faith.   A joyful person holds an exuberant outlook on life so that inner peace is not disturbed by outward turmoil.  The joyful choose to rejoice and keep moving forward with “holy optimism.”

Joy is rooted in an understanding that our Sovereign God is good.  He is faithful to His promises.  He is worthy of our praise.

Joy looks up to God and says:  Today, I will remember my God.  I will rejoice in your presence, Your protection, Your provision.

Joy is not swayed by the winds of changing circumstances.

“Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God’s people,
Joy-seeds are planted in good heart-soil.

So, God’s people, shout praise to God,
Give thanks to our Holy God!”

Psalms 97:11-12, MSG

Q4U:  How has God planted joy in your heart?  How do you cultivate this spiritual fruit?  I would love to hear your story.

Thank you for joining me for Day 15!

    1. Me, too, Micey! I am studying Ephesians right now, and I am finding a lot to hold on to in that powerful book. Knowing that He is able to do exceedingly above all that I ask or think or imagine helps me tip the scales a bit to the optimism side. I just need to keep renewing my mind with the truth that God is ABLE.
