31 Days to Fruitful Living — Day 14

apple heart

Have you ever tried to describe how kiwi or mango tastes to someone who has never sampled that fruit?  How do you put that into words?   Some things are hard to describe.

Thankfully, the Scriptures clearly describe the fruit of agape love for us.  Take a look at the description below to determine if you’re truly fruitlicious.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Q4U:  How would you describe God’s love to someone who has never tasted it?  Is your love “tasty”?

Thank you for joining me for Day 14!

Come back tomorrow for Day 15 of “31 Days to Fruitful Living.” We will chat about how to sow joy. I may have a black thumb, but I am determined to learn how to cultivate my spiritual life.

  1. Dear Lyli
In South Africa mangoes and kiwi fruit are abundantly available during our summer and I can assure you; they are delicious. In the same way true love is only “available” when we allow Jesus to pour His love and Himself into our hearts.

  2. I benefited from reading those verses in the Message. Thanks for using that version today because sometimes the words become routine when we’ve seen the same ones over and over, but this message is one I need to never forget! His love is crazy good.

    Love that apple photo. 🙂
